PFL is a non-for-profit Youth and Family service that was originally formed in 2003, serving clients in the Sangamon County Illinois area. It was consciously designed to better acclimate young people and adults with the social and economical culture and environment in which they are engaged so that they are equipped to manage life through its many transitions.
Primed for Life's mission is to develop socially, culturally, behaviorally, and economically aware individuals who are progressive and conscious of their community contribution.
Primed for Life, Inc. (PFL) is a collaboration of programs used to address the growing need in communities to educate and empower individuals who are overcoming challenging, life changing, and at-risk lifestyles and behaviors. The founders believe that a raised consciousness in individuals about their character, attitude, responsibility to self and community, clearly defined personal and social goals enhances opportunities for success in all aspects of their life.
PFL’s purpose is to facilitate, aide and prepare individuals and transitioning youth and adults in their evolution to healthy, productive, self-aware, and socially conscience citizens while having a positive impact on their local community. The agency supports individuals, schools, churches, agencies (private and public), and the community. PFL provides support and training to all individuals regardless of religion, race, gender, or sexual orientation.
Legal Entity: Primed for Life, Inc. is a tax-exempt not-for-profit 501c3 agency that focuses on mentoring, empowerment, prevention and intervention programs while pairing staff and volunteers with at-risk youth and adults in transition. PFL is ran by a board of directors and an executive director. This past year it operated on a budget in excess of a quarter of a million dollars from government grants and private donations.
