PFL facilitates education, coaching, and counseling to assist our participants to deal more effectively with their personal, family and community responsibilities while maintaining the stability to live life through and beyond transitions with the following programs.
LEAD: Leadership, Engagement, Advocacy, and Development. LEAD acts as a portal program for clients to navigate the Department of Children and Family Services as well as other government and private agency systems to achieve family reunification and stabilization. This program focuses on the investment of skills associated to the client's growth to self-sufficiency through basic and advanced self-advocacy, etiquette, rights, education and other trainings to the individual, public and private sector interested in child welfare. The overall goal is to enhance the fundamental capabilities of families to grow, reunite and sustain themselves resourcefully.
GAUGE: Gearing up and getting empowered. Youth development and transitional advocacy program for youth ages 12-24. This program focuses on character development, self-esteem, prevention, life skills and leadership training.
APPLAUSE: Applying personal principles and life applications while understanding one’s self evolution through change for adults 25 and older. This program focuses on adults who have experienced challenges and setbacks but are committed to rediscovering lost values, regaining confidence, focus, and devotion to a better life while redefining their place in society.
SAFE: Specifically designed for the child under the age of 12 who have witnessed or experienced life traumas. PFL recognizes that there are circumstances beyond a child’s control that would force them to experience life beyond their years. This program focuses to enhance coping and life skills for a child having to grow up faster than expected through societal norms.
Ex-Offender: This program focuses on the offender’s preparation for release and re-integration to community. It primarily deals with the social-emotional and economical readiness of the youth and adult who is transitioning back to their community after incarceration.Clinical Services: PFL pairs licensed and skilled professionals with individuals in need of services beyond our empowerment trainings. These professionals are partners who offer clinical intervention for anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and other relational and behavioral challenges affecting the growth for the individual. These services are currently offered through our affiliate partner, RCR Associates, Inc. for individuals, groups, and families. |
